As my mind finally finds itself being tired again tonight (I had an 8:30 p.m. bedtime), I owe it to finding peace in the Lord. Lately without even knowing that my marriage could use some work, the Lord began working in it. One day while I was doing some housework the Lord spoke to me and reminded me of how my husband shows me that he loves me in the little ways.
I am lucky to be married to a man who not only is a good provider, but lets me rest when I need to, helps me around the house, and has stood by me through my battle with postpartum depression. These are small and big examples. I believe in our marriage that we have such a special and spiritual connection that we are normally in tune with each other. When we don't take that time out to spend with each other, we're not connected. As most married couples know, it is very hard to keep the connection alive between life's every day responsibilities. Throw in managing a relationship with Jesus, how do you even keep your days straight?
In our own ways, we make life work. Communicating with your spouse is one of the best ways to make life easier. Do something for your spouse today. Just something small. Anything to remind them of how much you love them. Pray that the Lord gives you a new love for your spouse, one unlike you've ever had before. We've been married for just under two years and it just amazes me when the Lord does this to me already. It's like that newly married feeling all over again.

Hey, I'm 24 today.
I finally decided to make some good rounds on the internet today. Ever since I got a smart phone, I've been posting pictures from there on Facebook or hoping on/off the computer quickly most of the time. It doesn't make me a very good blogger though.
For the most part, the weather has been really rainy here for the last two weeks. We've made no more progress on our yard other than planting grass seed. I'm hoping this weekend that it'll not rain the whole time and stay warm enough that we can get some stuff done in the yard. We have a ton of digging to do in front of the porch and we have to plant our shrubs as well. For my birthday, my mother in law got me this neat solar butterfly garden that I am going to put in between them.
Easter went well here. Our church had an amazing worship service. I still keep thinking about how great it was nearly a week later. Today is my 24th birthday. But it's just another day. All in all, we're starting to gear up for all of our spring and summer activities which includes our oldest starting t-ball and hopefully swimming lessons for the babies.
Is that a good enough post for now? I was only up with my daughter and didn't mean to subject myself to computer time at 1:30 a.m. I should really go back to bed seeing as I went to bed at 8:30 p.m. I apparently needed the sleep.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Springtime
I love spring and summer months. I definitely perk up so much during these warmer days. Sometimes I think I'd really love to move where it is warm pretty much year round, but I've been born and raised in the Midwest, so I doubt we'll ever leave the area.
We moved to our new house in February. We're only renting, but want to make it feel like "ours" while we are still here. One of our projects this spring is to improve the way the front yard looks. So far we've planted some tulips. I've also bought some little lights to put out there. I think next we might find some landscaping bricks or railroad ties and some sort of shrubs to put in front of our porch. It'll make it look and feel nice as we're already spending a lot of time outside this year.
Tuesday night we spent some time at my mother in law's. The kids had fun running around in her big yard and the baby experienced grass for the first time.

Chicken and Rice Recipe
I found this recipe at Scattered Thoughts of a SAHM and thought I'd share. I'm adding it to our menu this week.
1/3 cup Mayo
2 cups chopped chicken
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup frozen peas
1/4 cup chopped green or red bell pepper
2 cups cooked white rice
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Blend soup, milk, salt, pepper, and mayo in a medium bowl. Combine chicken, onion, peas, bell pepper and rice in a large bowl; mix gently.
2. Gently fold soup mixture into the chicken mixture to combine, fold in half the cheddar cheese.
3. Spray a medium casserole dish with cooking spray. Spoon in chicken mixture.
4. Sprinkle top of casserole with remaining cheese. Bake until top is golden brown, about 25 minutes.
Variations:
-This casserole can be made ahead and frozen or stored in fridge until ready to bake. (if frozen, defrost in fridge, then bake for about 30 to 35 minutes, or until heated through.)
-Replace peas for broccoli
-sprinkle top with fried onions
-To prepare in the microwave, proceed as recipe directs through step 4 but do not ass the remaining cheese. Microwave on medium for 10 minutes: add remaining cheese. Microwave 10 more minutes til heated through.
