DIY Project: Twin size headboard

Slowly I am re-doing Guggy's room so that it's a nice fit for both of our boys. Currently Mr. A rooms with Joe & I, but when Mr. A moves out of his crib, we're planning on having the boys start to share a room. Despite having four bedrooms, the fourth one is so small that we've used it as a home office ever since moving here. Before too long, it will become our homeschool room.

As I'm working on the boys' room, I've picked up some decorations here and there. Most recently, I got them some construction site wall decals from Target. They are part of the Built It collection from Target, if you're curious. I can't seem to find the wall decals online, but I recently bought them in store for around $12.99.

To liven up the room, I re-did a twin size headboard. This was a really easy project that anyone can do. All it took was a little sanding and some paint. I did plan on using stencils to put Guggy's name on, but it just didn't turn out so well. That is something I will have to practice doing before attempting it in the future. For now, we're going to leave it the way it is. Once we get it all put together, I am sure he will really enjoy it.

Here are some before & after photos. Please excuse my collage. I made it in Picasa since Picnik has closed and I'm not exactly thrilled with Picasa so far. I think I'll be experimenting with Photobucket's editing options some more in the future.
